JOB SUMMARY: Performs skilled landscape maintenance tasks; proficiency in plant identification of common plant names; foliage maintenance, tree installation, equipment operation, and basic clean up. Maintenance duties include equipment maintenance, small residential home repairs and handyman skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for trimming/pruning shrubs, ground covers, vines and some trees and palms.
• Performs removal, installation and maintenance of plant material in beds and containers, and manual weeding.
• Maintenance of irrigation systems
• Mowing and turf maintenance
• Performs equipment maintenance as required.
• Small handyman projects (painting, minor repairs, etc)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• High school degree or GED preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Three to five years landscape maintenance or groundskeeping experience, preferably in an upscale commercial, residential or resort environment required

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida Driver’s License and background check required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Capable of heavy lifting - up to 50lbs

Equipment Maintenance

Cleaning, preserving finishes, checking fluid levels, lubricating.

Physical lifting and carrying of gasoline and grease in 5 gallon containers is required. Repetitive force is needed for correct operation of grease guns and other methods of lubrication. Protecting equipment finishes involves repetitive circular motions with pressure.
